This 3 hour workshop will begin with breath work to help centre and ground us before delving into the world of traditional Chinese medicine (TMC). We will look at the elements and how each season can affect us all differently depending on our energetic constitution. We will go on an exploration of the meridians, focusing on the two pairs of meridians connected to the summer season. We will then touch on the differences between Ayurveda and TMC before taking some time to create our own herbal tea blends to take home. 


This workshop will finish with a yin yoga practice, working with the heart and small intestine meridians.


The popularity of yin yoga (extremely slow yoga) is growing, as more and more people are wanting to slow down and turn inwards. Yin yoga allows us to pause and be still, giving us space to be with our own bodies and thoughts, helping us to get to know ourselves (both internally and externally) on a deeper level. As we soften into each pose, for up to 5 minutes or longer, we work on releasing our fascia (connective tissue) which is a watery like matrix that connects the various aspects of our bodies. This can help improve any discomfort or stiffness and aids us in feeling more supple in the body. As we sit in stillness in the poses we begin to tap into our parasympathetic nervous system aiding our ‘rest and digest’ response. This helps to reduce our cortisol levels meaning lower stress levels.
