Yin & Yang Yoga stretch

Deeply releasing and quietly powerful Yin is a nourishing practice for the mind, body and soul. A practice that's very often followed by deliciously deep sleep! Consisting of floor based postures held in softness and stillness, physically Yin works beyond the muscles and into the fascia and connective tissue (this is where 70%+ of our resistance is held). Energetically Yin creates acupressure along meridian lines - where acupuncture uses needles, Yin uses the shape of the body.


With stillness, silence and space to focus on the inner landscape Yin can be a practice of quiet transformation.


Focusing purely on sensation, totally uninterested in aesthetics, and taking time to set up each pose, every Yin pose is designed to be tailored to be useful for your body (I'll offer plenty of guidance here). Experience entirely unnecessary, camera entirely optional.

Polly has 10+ years’ experience in the charity sector designing and leading local and national work with a focus around combating loneliness and isolation. Working with older people, with carers and across the youth sector the aim of her work has been to remove barriers in order to help people connect, fulfil potential and live enriched lives.



Polly’s Yoga journey started over 10 years ago and it has played an important role in her life ever since. She deepened her love and knowledge of Yoga when spending time in Nepal in 2019 and went on to train with Bewell (YTT200).



Polly is committed to making Yoga make sense for more people through making classes accessible and creative and teaching with the generosity she learned when training with Bewell. She particularly enjoys helping people discover or rediscover Yoga.



She is particularly interested in connecting diverse communities of people with the benefits of Yoga and is passionate about taking Yoga into spaces and settings where it’s less commonly found.



Polly is also pursuing Counselling Training. With a passion for Yin Yoga and Embodiment work she is interested in holding space for people on and off the mat; enabling people to understand and accept their bodies and minds more fully in order to live more whole hearted lives.

Blending gentle movement and deep stretching this class will incorporate elements from Yin and Yang styles of Yoga to find release in the body. The session will work into tightness in the muscles as well as releasing deeper resistance and stuckness in the fascia and connective tissue - in turn supporting healthy joints and calming the mind and body. Perfect as a complement to cardio exercise, to ease tightness and tension (working from home anyone?!) or to work on gradually finding greater (safe, useful!) freedom of movement. With lots of options this class is accessible and effective to all.
