Yin Yoga offers you the chance to be still, be present and turn inwards while you breathe and stretch deeply, creating more space in mind and body.
Yin is a slow, mindful type of yoga that targets the deep connective tissues in the body. It can also stimulate different acupressure points from Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In Yin Yoga, we hold yoga shapes for about two to five minutes to work into our connective tissues, coming to stillness, supporting ourselves with props. Some discomfort can be experienced as our bodies initially adapt to the shapes. Often when we experience discomfort, our bodies naturally tense and activate the fight-or-flight response. Yin Yoga teaches us to reroute the mind to relax and release that stress when we experience discomfort.

This 45 minute session offers you a chance to reflect on how for you have come this year. Celebrate your achievements and set some intentions for yourself through journaling. Ease into some gentle movement to reconnect with your body and allow yourself to be guided through a relaxing meditation. Suitable for all levels.
