Who are we?
Karen is an experienced 200hr yoga teacher with an additional 95hr specialist prenatal and mum and baby certification. She has worked in education both teaching in local primary schools and as a tutor at the University of Hull in teacher training. Karen: @yoga-mim1622
Grace is a midwife and Hypnobirthing instructor. Currently practicing in the NHS, her experience includes all maternity ward areas including labour ward, and antenatal outpatients services. Grace is also a mum to Margot who is a 4 and Bea who is 10 months old. Grace: @myparenthoodcommunity
Come join me for a Mandala Vinyasa Yoga Flow; a dynamic practice using breath to movement to travel around the mat in 360°. “Mandala” in Sanskrit translates to completion or circle, hence the 360 degree flow. Mandala Vinyasa is based on four elements that bring connection between you and each of the elements – Earth, Water, Fire and Air. Each of these elements have their corresponding Chakra and group of muscles.
My Mandala Yoga classes combine the traditional Mandala methodology with a creative Vinyasa Yoga Flow to move around the mat in 360° rotations and to experience a change in perspective. Each Mandala class will be active, will demand your attention, and will be a whole lot of fun!

Slow Flow Yoga

Go with the flow in this calming, fluid class that connects breath with movement as you go from posture to posture. With a new theme woven in each week, it’s perfect for those who want to leave feeling centred and is suitable for all levels including beginners.
Slow Flow Yoga is a combination of a modified Vinyasa Flow and Hatha Yoga class. The mind-body connection is one of the main goals; be guided through some delicious movements to make space in the body as well as the mind, making you feel relaxed and calm to continue the day and even week ahead.
Who is the course suitable for?
The pace is perfect for beginners as the movements are broken down with more time spent in each pose, but it is also perfect for more advanced yogis who are looking to dive deeper into their alignment and postures. The breath work and calm nature of the class is also perfect for people of all ages and walks of life. Slow flow yoga can help reduce stress, it is low-impact, helps to teach patience and mental toughness, improve flexibility, build muscles, prevent injuries and improve overall health. What’s not to love?

Yoga for Mummy with Babies!

Yoga-Mimi 'Yoga for Mummy with Babies' offer specialised postpartum yoga for mums with babies included in the classes. Mummy and Baby yoga is a great way for you to enjoy an uninterrupted hour or so with your baby without the worries and concerns of day to day life and to meet other mummies to form a caring, supportive community.
Suitable from 6/8 weeks or 10/12week post C-section.
Previous yoga experience is not required.
For the mummies: Classes are specifically designed for new mums to bring your body gently back to alignment, supporting your journey in recovering strength and tone in a safe way. We’ll focus specially on the muscles affected by giving birth – your tummy, pelvic floor and back. Yoga can also improve sleep, help you relax and improve your fitness and posture. A safe way to gift yourself some 'you time' with your baby alongside you too!
For the babies: Our Mummy and Baby yoga offers lots of benefits to your baby – from calming and relaxing them, to helping their reflexes develop. It can improve their awareness of their surroundings, and make your bond stronger.
Meet other mummies: Yoga classes are a great way to meet other mums. You’re welcome to join as soon as you’ve had your six/eight week check-up or ten weeks if post C-section. You will be part of a caring community to share time together after the class to swap stories and offer each other support. Post yoga lunch dates are encouraged!

Prenatal Yoga

Yoga can help during pregnancy, a time when the body is undergoing so many changes. Pregnancy is an ideal time to start yoga, to continue your yoga practice sympathetically to your growing and changing body and to have the opportunity to meet other mums-to-be. Practicing yoga in pregnancy can help to gently stretch and tone your body as your baby grows, prepare for birth and provide tools to help promote a sense of balance and wellbeing.
Each class includes relaxation and pranayama (breathing techniques) to help during labour and asana (physical movements and poses) to help relieve common pregnancy ailments whilst strengthening the body and increasing flexibility. You will leave feeling calm and relaxed – bliss!
Yoga during pregnancy has been shown to:

• Relieve stress and anxiety

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

This Vinyasa Flow class is a dynamic yoga flow class. Vinyasa is a practice where postures or asanas are connected through breath for a transformative and balancing effect. Classes energise, build stamina, flexibility and strength as well as a calming meditation for the mind. The creative sequencing found in a Vinyasa class is often built around Surya Namaskar (sun salutations). Vinyasa yoga weaves yogic teaching and music that inspire physical, energetic, mental and intuitive states. As a philosophy, Vinyasa recognises the temporary nature of things; we enter into a posture, are there for a while and then leave.
Karen @ Yoga-Mimi aims to bring a sense of fun to her classes so the atmosphere is light, warm and welcoming. All levels are welcome; Karen will provide modifications whether it is your first or 100th class!
