Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep, as it is also known, is a guided meditation taking you on a journey into your inner self. It is a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional stillness.
During Yoga Nidra the body rests deeply as the mind progressively becomes more aware of the inner world. This is achieved through following a series of verbal invitations to bring you into a state of mindful awareness
Please Note: This is for the face-to-face in studio class. The address will be sent to you after you have placed your booking.
Rest your body...
Calm you mind...
Classes begin with a relaxing meditation, to quieten your busy mind and help calm you from the demands of your everyday life, before moving into a series of slow movements combining with the breath to create inner peace and harmony.
The sessions are suitable for all ages and abilities and will help you feel more able to adapt to the challenges you face in your life, build your resilience, finding acceptance and flexibility in your body, mind and spirit. As you move through the postures you will become more mindful of your breath and begin to feel more calm and at ease.
You will be invited to take part in each session in whatever way nourishes and nurtures you, so options for alternative ways of doing the practice will be offered. The invitation is for you to be kind and gentle with yourself and to practice in a way that feels supportive of your needs in that moment. Mindfulness and being in the present moment are always encouraged.

Pocket Pals help when you’re feeling big emotions that make you feel uncomfortable.
There are lots of ways to use your little mate.
Just before you go to sleep you can chat to it about anything that might be worrying you, then pop your little Pal under your pillow. You might find that whatever was bothering you doesn’t feel so big in the morning.
If you’re feeling a bit anxious, your Pocket Pal is always there for you. Reach into your pocket and there it is.
You can tell your Pal about things that concern you so, together, you can start to process how you feel, and maybe that will help you feel more calm. Talking through the things that worry you helps you to understand them better and your little mate is there to help.
With your Pocket Pal in your hand or your pocket, you can travel anywhere your imagination wants to take you and discover the story you want to have for your one wild, wonderful, extraordinary life.
...so what can you expect?

...so what can you expect?
Here in my beautiful studio in Wonga Park or Wonga Paradise, as I like to call it, overlooking the picturesque Yarra Valley, we’ll begin with a short journalling practice to set your intention for the day. You'll then be invited to follow a guided meditation and a slow yoga practice, bringing gentle movement into your body, to release any excess energy. With your mind calmed and centred, we will move into gentle Pranayama, bringing awareness to the breath.
We’ll then pause for a cuppa and a yummy bite to eat before settling into a gentle and nourishing restorative yoga practice. Restorative yoga is a deeply restful practice, where your body and mind are invited to move into the state of ‘rest and digest’. With the support of bolsters, blocks and blankets you will explore various poses for extended periods of time, inviting your body to move into a place of deep rest.
Following the restorative practice, feeling deeply rested, we’ll move into a Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra, also known as “yogic sleep” is a beautiful practice of guided meditation taking you on a journey into your inner self. It is a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional stillness.
The retreat will conclude with a short check in to ground and centre yourself before moving into your evening.
Through this nourishing combination of yoga, meditation, breath work and journalling, you will feel more clear, connected and ready to face the rest of the weekend and the week ahead.
Take this time for yourself.
Go deeper and explore a greater sense of peace and tranquillity within.
The Inner Peace Retreat is suitable for all ages and abilities. No previous experience is necessary.
All equipment will be provided - mats, bolsters, blocks, blankets... however if you prefer to use your own, you are very welcome to bring whatever you need.
The location of the Retreat will be provided on booking.
