A beginners class. This class begins by focusing on the breath to relax, ground and centre your awareness in the moment, allowing all other concerns and distractions to quieten and fade. You will be led through a slow and gentle warm-up to free up the joints and prepare the body for bigger movements. You will be introduced to the fundamental yoga postures which will gradually be linked together into gentle flowing sequences. The pace then slows down once again to longer held poses and you begin to cool down. You will stretch, twist, balance and strengthen the body before ending the class with a deeply relaxing meditation.
Throughout the class you will be invited to experience each pose with self-awareness, as well as an awareness of safe alignment in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Options and modifications will be offered, allowing you to move at your own pace and challenge yourself just as much as feels good to you in each moment.

You will build heat and release tension while increasing strength, flexibility, balance, co-ordination and focus. While physical strength and stamina may be tested as you bend, twist ans stretch, the meditative quality of the practice leads toward stillness and calm.
