In this Open Floor workshop you are invited to explore what it is to step out of auto pilot and to inhabit your body, and your life, with greater presence and connection. During times of stress our default mode is often to take fight or flight, or even shut down in order to feel safe. We often cut ourselves off from our bodies' innate capacity to self regulate and rebalance.
Open Floor is a conscious dance practice. During this workshop you are invited to meet yourself just as you are, without judgement, whether vulnerable, fierce, shaky or strong. Inviting curiosity and friendliness, and with the support of music - we explore ways of resourcing ourselves & self regulating through mindful movement and mindful awareness practices. There will be periods of conscious dance with invitational instruction to support your movement and time for
reflective enquiry & formal mindfulness meditation.
Facilitated by Paula Martin
Paula is an Open Floor Teacher & facilitates Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. She is the Director of Beo Centre for Mindfulness and Integrated Health and long term practitioner of Western Insight Meditation. With a background in General Practice, she is passionate about integrating Mind Body practices into Modern Medicine.
