In quarterly circles over the course of 2025, we will meet to discuss the four parts of the book "Wise Power" by Alexandra Pope and Sanie Hugo Wurlitzer (Founders of "Red School".
The subtitle of the book is "discover the liberating power of menopause to awaken authority, purpose and belonging". The invitation through both reading the book, and attending the circles, is to "awaken to your power and wisdom. To come home to yourself. Surrender to the menopausal process with awareness, some skill and a good dose of humility and humour".
The book provides guidance on navigating menopause in a way that empowers and dignifies you. The circle provides an opportunity to come together and discuss the section of the book that we've read, and to share our own experiences of transitioning through our own cycles. For this reason, the circle is only open to women.
We have four circles through the course of the year. You can drop into these on an individual basis, or come to them all. They follow the sections of the book - reading the book alongside will be helpful, but not compulsory.
All of the circles are Friday nights, held from 7-9pm:

23rd May: The Journey to Menopause
22nd August: Navigating the Mystery of Menopause
28th November: A Law Unto Yourself: Welcome to Freedom
Attendance at an individual circle will be £20, or you can book in for all four for £60. There's a reduced rate for anyone who would struggle to pay the full amount. Just pick the rate that best fits your financial circumstances.

Meet your facilitator:
Susie worked as a Social Worker within Criminal Justice for 20 years, and is passionate about helping people to make difficult changes. Since the beginning of 2017, Susie has been delivering mindfulness within her local community in Falkirk. She co-founded Pause & Breathe CIC with her husband, Phil Blackburn and is delighted to have opened The Place to Pause & Breathe in Bonnybridge and The Place for Martial Arts & Wellbeing in Bo'ness - bringing people together in community.
Susie is a Mindfulness Coach and a certified Daring to Rest Facilitator. She also teaches Qi Gong and Chair Yoga. Her approach is trauma-sensitive, and she is an advocate of giving participants choice in everything she offers.
