Nia combines dance, mindfulness and functional movement in a way that supports both wellbeing and self-expression. There are 52 core moves within Nia, but this class isn’t about mastering them all. It’s about exploring movement in a way that feels good for your body, connecting with music, and discovering the joy of moving without judgement.

We'll be dancing the routine AYA — inspired by joyful Latin rhythms and expressive movement.

You’ll be guided throughout, with plenty of freedom to adapt movements to suit your own body and energy levels. No previous dance experience is needed — just a willingness to show up and move.

We dance Nia in bare feet - so please do be ready for this. If this won't work for you, you can work yoga socks (with grips), or very light (clean) shoes. Wear something comfortable to move in. You might like to bring a yoga mat and blanket for relaxation at the end. It's possible to have a chair if needed.

Susie from Pause & Breathe CIC will be the facilitator for this session.

This session is being held on Friday 10th July 10-11.30am, in The Place to Pause & Breathe, Bonnybridge. This includes a break for a hot drink, biscuits and a chat.

These sessions are free, as they have been funded by Falkirk Communities Mental Health & Wellbeing. They are designed to support participant's overall health and wellbeing, increasing community connections and reducing loneliness. Although they are free, please only book in if you are definitely attending as numbers are limited. If you do book in and then can't make it please cancel your booking, as we may have people on the waiting list. If you'd like to come along but it feels difficult, please get in contact to enquire about our befriending service: susie@pauseandbreathe.co.uk
