This session will include the opportunity to share and reflect on books, poetry or non fiction that is meaningful those who come along.
Using writing prompts and some simple exercises participants will have the opportunity to spend time (in 7 minute sections) in free writing. No previous experience with writing is required, just an open mind and permission to engage with imagination and creativity.
Imagination is a significant factor in wellness. How we see, smell, taste, touch and hear people and objects in our environment can be negatively impacted by external factors which do not belong to us. Allowing those words or situations to be written or spoken can open new horizons.
Participants who struggle with reading or writing are welcome and the exercises will be adapted to accommodate everyone.
Please bring a favourite pen. A piece of poetry or prose you enjoy (extracts of about 100 words or less please) and a notebook or lined paper.
Author Liza Miles will be the facilitator for this session.
This session is being held on Friday 17th July 10-11.30am, in The Place to Pause & Breathe, Bonnybridge. This includes a break for a hot drink, biscuits and a chat.
These sessions are free, as they have been funded by Falkirk Communities Mental Health & Wellbeing.
