This are an introductory sessions for Qi Gong. Qi Gong can be used as a complementary treatment for various common ailments. Practicing Qi Gong can help to improve overall health and wellbeing and reduces mental and physical stress.
In this 5-week block we'll by focused on the Ba Duan Jin, also known as the 8 essential movements or the 8 brocades or silk brocades. They are gentle rhythmic movements, paired with the breath. They can be traced back nearly 2000 years, and are thought to have more benefit when practiced in the morning: "When practiced between one in the morning and noon, Ba Duan Jin brings practitioners into harmony with the universe" - Gao Lin
Although Qi Gong is usually practiced from a standing position, all of these moves can be adapted to do from a chair.
Our 5-week block starts on Tuesday 12th May 11-11.45am, running for 5 consecutive weeks. It's £31.50 to come along, with a reduced rate available for anyone who could not otherwise afford to attend. It is also possible to attend on a drop-in basis - there's a different link to book in this way. This class is included in membership. There is the opportunity to contribute to our pay-it-forward scheme, helping to subsidise our reduced rate spaces. You can do this by paying an additional £1. If you are able to, please select this option. These classes are included in our membership.
