1. Just A Minute
1-minute outline of your services. Other attendees ask for further clarification after your minute. Following this, if you are open to constructive feedback, attendees will offer their suggestions on how to better communicate your offering.
Each attendee will state something that they have been putting off doing which they know will help their business. They will make a verbal commitment to take tangible steps to have this done before the next meeting. For example, calling that prospect that you have not followed up on, or completing those tax returns that you have been putting off. Call it out and become accountable. This section will start with a simple yes or no - did you do what you said you would do at the last meeting? If not, we don't want to hear excuses. If you did, tell us about it!
3. Feature Problem
This is the part where one consistent attendee gets to describe a problem/issue that they are facing. The group will focus on resolving it. Nobody is claiming to be an expert but maybe through discussion, someone in the group will have an idea. Or perhaps someone that has dealt with the problem before, can offer perspective or can point you in the right direction.
Keeping with the theme of accountability, each attendee is required to pre-pay €5 before attending. This €5 is a commitment to attend and improve your bottom line. Every week all of the money collected is donated to a local charity. The charity is chosen each week by the person whose business problem is featured for discussion. In this section, the previous weeks donation amount is revealed and the donation receipt is produced.
The 60-minute Business Workout is organised by Niall Smith of BookingHawk.com and Caitríona Ní Charra of Vision Coaching and Consulting.
