Mumma To Be Yoga - Drop In

This Mumma to be Yoga class is designed to prepare your body, mind and soul for the birth of your precious baby. Pregnancy is a magical time, but it is also a time of great change. This course will help your body to adjust to your growing baby. It will help to alleviate any pregnancy related aches and pains such as hip pain, lower back pain or pelvic girdle pain.


There are 3 main components to each class, controlled breathing techniques, yoga poses and relaxing guided meditation.


Controlled breathing techniques (Pranayama)– We will use various controlled breathing techniques at the start of each class. These breathing techniques are very beneficial for calming the central nervous system. They are useful to use during pregnancy, labour and any times of stress to bring feelings of relaxation.


Yoga poses (Yoga asanas)-We will practice carefully selected yoga poses specifically geared towards pregnancy. Yoga will help to stretch and make space in your body for your growing baby. This yoga course will help to ease any pregnancy related pains such as hip pain, lower back pain and pelvic girdle pain. You will build strength, which is helpful for carrying the extra weight of the baby and will also assist you during labour.


Pregnancy guided relaxation- This relaxing, restorative guided meditation will leave you feeling blissfully relaxed. It is time for your body to rest and rejuvenate after the class. The guided meditations will be themed around your baby, your pregnancy and your birth. The guided meditation will also include positive affirmations and visualisations leaving you feeling confident about your pregnancy and upcoming birth.


Along with pregnancy related benefits you will also gain normal yoga related benefits such as improved strength, balance and flexibility, better sleep, more energy and lower stress levels. What’s not to love!
