10-11 AM. Welcome to Opti-MUM: Physiotherapist-led Pilates classes for new mums. This 5 week course is suitable from 8 weeks post natal if you had a vaginal delivery, or 10 weeks post C-Section if you have been cleared by your healthcare professional (GP, PHN). This isn't about doing hundreds of sit-ups or 'bouncing back' after pregnancy. It's about gradually restoring your movement, flexibility and strength safely, under the guidance of an experienced Chartered Physiotherapist. Enjoy it as a little 'me-time' on your own, or keep baby alongside you as you exercise. As the mother of a toddler and a newborn, I understand how challenging it can be to juggle the demands of a young baby. So even if baby needs a feed, a nappy change or a cuddle during class, take your time and just join back in when you are ready. Each class will incorporate a mix of both relaxing and challenging exercises which can be adapted to suit your ability, no matter what your level of fitness is. A comfortable exercise is provided for you.
