There was a long period of not knowing before my son was diagnosed with dyslexia, dyspraxia and sensory needs. The school said he was fine but he became increasingly distressed at home.
Though I was doing my best to navigate his distress, I noticed my own reactivity wasn’t helping. Mindfulness practices became a way for me to support myself when things were intense. They help me pause before I react to challenging behaviour, to stay steady during the periods of chaos and to make amends when I don’t get it right.
During this FREE webinar, we’ll explore the automatic nature of stress reactivity, how it feeds behaviour and tools to disrupt it. We’ll also employ some simple practices that we can use to support ourselves and demonstrate some practices for children.
Michele is currently studying for her MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy at IICP. She has a MSc in Mindfulness Based Interventions from UCD, teaches mindfulness in schools, to parents and in the workplace. Sent from my iPhone
