Please join us for a conversation about ARFID with Dr. Rebecca Quinn from The Psychology Practice.


We'll learn about 3 different types of ARFID:

Lack of interest: genuine lack of interest in food or eating

Sensory Avoidance: issues with food tastes, textures, temperature and smells.

Fear of Aversive Consequences: fear of illness, choking, nausea and allergies.


Dr Quinn will give us some insight and ideas for how to support children with ARFID. Rebecca is the Principal Psychologist over 3 Children’s Disability Network Teams in Wicklow where she has worked for 12 years. She is a chartered principal clinical psychologist and is the Director of The Psychology Practice, founded 2022. Prior to this Rebecca worked in the area of Neuropsychology in Beaumont Hospital and adult mental health in St Patrick’s Hospital. She also held a 1 year post at the Institute of Psychiatry, Maudsley, London after she completed her training.


She completed her psychology undergraduate at Trinity College Dublin before completing aMasters in the Foundation of Clinical Psychology at the University of Wales, Bangor. Her doctorate in clinical psychology was undertaken at (DClin) at the University of Limerick.Rebecca is a member of the PSI and the Autism Special Interest Group within the PSI. Her special areas of interest include anxiety, autism and the relationship between physical activity and mental health.
