Welcome to the Healing Qigong Workshop happening on the 9th of March at 11am – 1pm in Mind The Step studio in Dublin at the address 24 Strand Street Great.


It is a nourishing beautiful time to support your health and wellbeing through ancient Chinese health practices of longevity breathing also called Taoist breathing, grounding meditation, qigong, healing sounds, healing dancing qigong, poetry and chanting .The workshop will also include meditation through art that helps awaken your creative parts of the brain and bring bigger clarity and peace to yourself. All of these practices are nourishing, therapeutic and healing.


The beginning of March is a very special time of the year when we are celebrating the International Women’s day, and some of the practices will be meant particular to support your feminine health and wellbeing, harmonising your feminine energy, allowing yourself to simply be. The workshop is highly valuable for ladies as well as for men as beautiful feminine energy is flowing in each of us and it is for us to discover, welcome and nourish it within ourselves.


The workshop includes breathing practice from Qigong called longevity breathing or Taoist breathing. The nature of Taoist breathing is to get everything inside your body moving in synch to the rhythm of your breathing, that makes the inside of your body fully alive, joyful and healthy, It cultivates the ability to relax and concentrate on what you are doing without being distracted. Longevity or Taoist breathing helps create and stabilize a strong, steady breathing pattern that will mitigate emotional swings. It allows the nervous system to relax, making your thoughts smoother and more comfortable.


The main part of the workshop is devoted to the practice of healing qigong. I am a certified Qigong Level 1 Instructor, the member of the Irish Tai chi and Qigong Association, and the member of the International Tai chi and Qigong Federation with my personal qigong practice of 5 years and teaching Qigong and meditation practices for 2.5 years.


Qigong is an ancient Chinese breathing energy practice consisting of slow gentle movements and meditation. There are different types of Qigong, and I am teaching health Qi Gong that is meant for healing, maintaining inner balance and inner peace, strengthening immune system. Qigong practice is also called Meditation in motion that involves slow-flowing movements, deep breathing and a calm meditative state of mind. With roots in Chinese medicine and martial arts, Qigong is viewed as a practice to cultivate and balance Qi energy, the life-energy.


Qi means air, breath, 'vital energy'. Gong means skill, mastery, achievement, service, accomplishment. Qi + Gong combined together are meant to cultivate and balance life energy for your health and wellbeing.


Some of the qigong practice will be with music in the dance. Music has a soothening effect on the body and mind, and moving your body in synchrony with music, and breathing into each of your movement allows you to connect with your deeper self and feel the parts of yourself which may need more love, care and attention. It is a beautiful combination of qigong movements, breathing practice and graceful dancing movements which open space of creativity and freedom within yourself, allowing yourself to be present in your own body right here, right now, sensing it, feeling it, accepting and loving it the way it is.



These practices in combination with healing sounds, poetry and chanting will create a healing and nourishing space for gentle exploration of yourself and the world around you.
