Messy Play - 6 Months - 5 Years - AUGUST DATES

Messy Play introduces your child to a world of exploration and fun using all their senses. As well as having fun, our messy play class offers your child a host of developmental benefits!

(Class takes place in the garden, weather permitting or indoors if it's raining.)

Benefits:

Physical: Exploring and manipulating the many class contents builds your child's fine motor skills, builds their eye-hand co-ordination through play and works on their balance and coordination.

Social and Emotional: Messy Play encourages a positive attitude to new experiences, pushes their comfort zone as they play and experience a variety of textures and fosters a child's natural curiosity. Multi-sensory play builds independence through choice, engaging in their own time and own way, pushing boundaries at their own pace.

Creativity: Use of different media fosters imagination and explores the idea of PROCESS over PRODUCT, giving value to the fun, creative process and not the end product.

Communication & Literacy: Encourages confidence in communication as we chat about what we can hear, see, feel and imagine.

Maths Concepts: Develops the concept of size and shape, and offers opportunities for counting, measuring and sorting. Through repetition, children figure out how much water to fill the cup or how much play dough will fit in a container.
